Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. This is because the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for ages. Clients from each of the surrounding states pile in passenger cars and visit Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a benchmark determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. From that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Indian bands located in Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the betting laws, and today operate 10 gambling dens of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling halls were built on. Electronic games like slot machines were not permitted, because they're thought to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma law have altered to permit enormous Amerindian gaming casinos. You'll now find Native gambling halls with one armed bandits, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are still not allowed in the American Indian casinos as of yet, although that is only a waiting game. No one can authority whether having different games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
